Yeah - Denmark embraces tequil Yeah - Denmark embraces tequila!
- From: Tequilaman Denmark

Description:
We have gone online now with Denmarks first dedicated tequilawebshop - www.tequilaonline.dk. It has taken some time getting the thing in the air, but finally we are there. Denmark is still a relatively new country tequilawise. We mainly see the major brands and ofcourse huge amounts of cheap Sierra.
But it seems the prospects are fine. We have got really good response on the shop and are looking forward to see how difficult it will be to market 100% agave products.

I highly dislike Patron. I dislike the price. I dislike everything that it represents. I even started disliking the taste because of the correlation to the last two statements.
I do, however, like cafe patron. But that is it.

I will introduce my first blog with a little history of my tequila "expertise." I used tequila to get myself into a state of mind that no other spirit could achieve. Shot after shot, margerita after margerita, I would drown myself in the stuff it was delicious. And no, this is not a story of my road to recovery. This is the story of my true appreciate for the agave plant.
The more I drank it the more I saw myself steering away from the Patrons and Cuervos and other highly marketed products. I extended my pallet and found out about Blancos, Reposados, and Anejos...then finally EXTRA anejos.
After my first trip to Mexico (Playa del Carmen, if you haven't gone, GO), I tapped into some reserves of this wonderful liquor and realized that Tequila can be translated into a good ol fashioned bourbon.
I came home and immediately got into the Extra Anejos. First up, CAMPO AZUL's EXTRA ANEJO.
Pure delciousness. So smooth. So tasty. So INEXPENSIVE. It is great for yourself. Great for a gift. Great for any occasion.
I will be the first to admit I am not a coinnosseur in Tequila, but I will be one day. And this one was a good start!

Wendy Atkin asks "How Many Fin Wendy Atkin asks "How Many Fingers of Tequila after a Bad Day?:
- From: BoozeLady
-
Description:
Congrats to Wendy who asked...
"How many fingers or tequila would you suggest drinking at one time if you are having a really bad day?"
Well Wendy, there a re a lot of factors that come into play here. The first question I must ask is how much Tequila do you drink on a good day? Then I have to know how bad a day was it really? Did you spill something on your favorite shirt or did you get fired from your job? Next I'll ask what kind of tequila you'll be drinking in order to ease the pain of this bad day. Different proofs must be taken into consideration. Finally I'll be asking about your tolerance and about your weight. Obviously a larger human is going to need a few more fingers in order to get the job done. Unfortunately I cant give customized answers to all the Tequila Lovers out there so I will suggest you start with three and then take it from there. Always be safe when drinking, especially when you're upset about something and remember, as long as you drank some tequila, can the day really be that bad?
Sincerely,
Booze Lady

TEQUILAINVEGASISGREAT asks us. TEQUILAINVEGASISGREAT asks us...

Thank you to "tequilainvegasisgreat" who asked
"Where do you get the worms to put in the tequila bottles? and are they live when you put them in there, do they suffer a drunken death."
Technically they aren't put in tequila, they are put in Mezcal. And technically they aren't worms, they are butterfly caterpillars. There are two species of these caterpillars that are used in tequila, one is the red gusano and the other is the white or gold gusano. The white (or gold) gusano is considered to be the lesser of the two because it is found in the leaves of the Agave plant and turns an ugly grey when it is left at the bottom of the bottle. The red gusano is the superior gusano because it is found in the heart of the agave plant and turns a pale pink color which is more appealing to your average worm eater. The worms that you see in today's Mezcal bottles have most likely been bread for that very purpose and they are edible because they have been cooked and pickled in alcohol for over a year. A lot of people say that it makes you a man if you will eat the worm at the bottom of the bottle. Take it from the Boozelady, its not eating the worm that makes you a man, its how much mezcal you drank in order to get to it.

Mackdeleon - What are good teq Mackdeleon - What are good tequila Mix Drinks
- From: BoozeLady
-
Description:
MACKDELEON asked "what is a good mix drink with tequila other than the regular or well known drinks like Margaritas, tequila sunrise. One that is not too common but really good?"
Thank you for your question Mackdeleon, there is a short answer and a long answer. The short answer is that any tequila mix drink is a great mix drink. The long answer is to name them all but I would be more than happy to give you a few of my favorites and the recipes will follow. The first is a Bloody Maria, it's a lot like a Bloody Mary but with a little more SPICE. It's a great drink for the morning, afternoon, evening, any time really. For a more "Sex in the City" type drink try a Cosmoquila. And if you are looking for a tequila shot with a little more substance try a Psycho Tsunami. All of these are fun and delicious options but never forget that one of the best tequila cocktails is one part glass and one part vodka. Enjoy!
Bloody Maria
A variation on another fabulous. For the full Mexican experience you should really make it as spicy as you can. Into a shaker filled with two thirds ice, add a large (50 ml) shot of tequila, 3 large shots of tomato juice, half a small (25ml) shot of lime juice, a pinch each of celery salt and pepper, a couple of dashes of Worcestershire sauce, and an adventurous number of dashes of Tabasco. Shake, and strain into an ice-filled highball glass. Garnish with a couple of lime wedges.Cosmoquila
A variation on the Cosmopolitan. Into a shaker two thirds filled with ice add one and a half small (25ml) shots of tequila, one small shot of Cointreau, one and a half shots of cranberry juice, and a quarter of a shot of fresh lime juice. Shake and strain into a Martini glass. Garnish with an orange twist.Psycho Tsunami
Into a shot glass add the following in equal quantities in this order - blue Curacao, fresh lime juice, tequila. Then add a dash of Tabasco, and allow to settle before downing in one. - Blog post
